Launch of Elite Coder to certify coding competencies in Singapore
Flying Cape is excited to announce the launch of Elite Coder, a new initiative developed in collaboration with Science Centre Singapore Global and mangoSTEEMS to help students build and certify their coding competencies. As digital technology continues to shape how we learn, work and solve problems, coding has become an increasingly important skill for the next generation. Beyond learning programming languages, students need opportunities to develop computational thinking, logical reasoning, creativity and the confidence to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.Elite Coder provides students with a structured pathway to develop these capabilities and gain meaningful recognition for their progress. Through progressive learning and assessment, students can demonstrate their coding knowledge, problem-solving abilities and practical application of computational concepts.Making Coding Competencies VisibleStudents often learn coding through classes, enrichment programmes and independent practice. However, it can be difficult for parents and educators to understand a student’s level of proficiency or track how their capabilities have developed over time.Elite Coder aims to address this by providing a clearer framework through which coding competencies can be assessed and certified. This gives students a tangible milestone to work towards while helping them recognise their strengths and identify areas for further development.Certification can also encourage students to take greater ownership of their learning, build confidence and continue progressing towards more advanced computational challenges.Preparing Students for a Digital FutureThe launch brings together the complementary expertise of Flying Cape, Science Centre Singapore Global and mangoSTEEMS to support meaningful and future-ready learning.Through Elite Coder, students will have the opportunity to strengthen essential capabilities such as:Computational and logical thinkingProblem-solving and analytical skillsCreativity and digital confidenceApplication of coding conceptsPerseverance when tackling complex challengesThese competencies extend beyond coding. They help students learn how to break down problems, test different approaches, learn from mistakes and develop effective solutions—skills that will remain valuable across many future educational and career pathways.Inspiring the Next Generation of CodersFlying Cape is proud to support the launch of Elite Coder in Singapore and to work with Science Centre Singapore Global and mangoSTEEMS to make quality coding education and competency recognition more accessible to students. We look forward to seeing young learners challenge themselves, celebrate their progress and take the next step in their digital learning journeys through Elite Coder.Stay tuned for more information on Elite Coder registration, assessment opportunities and upcoming programme dates
